What do kids learn at Jiu-jitsu classes?

Kids Jiu-jitsu Classes at Chess Club Kawana

What will your kids learn at Chess Club jiu-jitsu?

Chess Club Jiu-jitsu is a safe and fun environment for kids to develop life skills and learn healthy habits

The ‘gentle art’ of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a combat form that allows your opponent to surrender without being harmed. We apply the principles of pressure, leverage and timing to allow kids to develop greater control of their bodies and to learn a non-violent approach to conflict resolution and bullying prevention.

We teach the seven precepts of Bushido

Justice, Courage, Benevolence, Politeness, Sincerity, Honour and Loyalty.

And, the Chess Club SAMURAI Code:

  • Self Confidence

  • Anti Bullying

  • Mate-ship

  • Unity

  • Recognition

  • Accountability

  • Independence

BJJ is recognised for its impact for developing young minds to practice a Martial Art and aid in nullifying unjustified violence by promoting confidence in a combative environment.

We celebrate each win as a victory and each loss as a lesson not a mistake.

All of this is taught in a safe environment, in our state-of-the-art facility with some of Australia’s top Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructors.
